These IRWIN ship-auger bits are designed to bore holes through utility poles & wooden framing
A feed-screw pilot draws the bit into the wood

• We offer multiple sizes with a 3/8" square taper bit shank that can be cut off to expose a hex shank for use in a 3/8" or larger power tool.
• Note: The 12" x 1/4" (47104) has a 1/4" bit shank & can only be used in a hand-brace (87266)
• The machine-ground flutes & precision-angled helical chisel surfaces clear chips without clogging
• Bits are heat-treated & tempered along the full length to resist wear while staying sharper longer
